In the very heart of Osijek’s Secession district, on Alojzija Stepinca Street, we designed and delivered the office for the IT company DICE, creating a space that brings together architectural heritage and contemporary functionality.

The project is set within a well-preserved and restored Secession building, and is defined by a concept we developed under the name Tech Nouveau, a contemporary interpretation of Secessionist elements expressed through a modern design language. Within the interior, we reinterpreted classic forms and ornaments from the early 20th century.

Repetition of patterns, curved lines, and relief elements appear in acoustic panels, door frames, and in the pronounced contrasts of spatial heights articulated through colour and texture. Darker textiles contribute to a sense of refinement, while a contemporary layer is introduced through elements such as digital mirror screens for wayfinding, as well as DICE’s new minimalist visual identity, subtly integrated through environmental graphics.

Our goal was to respect the context of the location and its historic architecture, while creating a functional, contemporary workspace that supports the everyday needs of its users. At the same time, we wanted to introduce an element of informality - something that allows for relaxation and play. This layer was further enriched by DICE’s internal team, who developed a series of engaging spatial details and accents, combining well-known artworks with internal jokes in the form of images and posters.

The working areas were kept simple, with a focus on comfort and concentration. At the same time, particular value is placed on the outdoor garden - a green oasis with a wooden pergola that provides shade and a sense of calm. The basement adds another distinctive layer to the project, transformed into the DICE Club - a shared dining area and a space for after-work gatherings. Although lower in height and inherently darker in character, it has been enhanced with oval mirrors and ambient lighting, making it unexpectedly inviting and attractive.

With this project, we demonstrate how, without major construction interventions, a thoughtful approach to furnishing and design can create an authentic space with a strong identity, one that goes beyond the basic functional requirements of an office environment.
